How The Captician began.

The Captician began when I was trying to clean my own and my friends' hats.

Like most people, I followed DIY advice, online tutorials and household cleaning tips, following everything from washing machines to everyday cleaners,but ended up ruining my hats.

Most of that advice simply wasn't designed for hats.

One of the first hats I professionally restored.

Built on textile care expertise.

When I later trained in professional carpet, upholstery and fabric care, I realised hats needed their own approach.

Instead of adapting laundry or sneaker cleaning techniques, I looked at how hats are actually made.

Every part of a hat, from the fabric and embroidery to reinforced crowns and cardboard brims, had to be taken into account. I developed a method around each component to clean it safely without causing damage.

Years of professionally cleaning hats showed me the same problem time and again. People wanted to care for their hats but were worried about ruining them.

The Captician was created to give people the confidence to clean, maintain and protect their hats the right way.
